thexsys and Foodics

Foodics is a restaurant platform well known across the Gulf. thexsys runs a restaurant as part of one business system: the till, the kitchen display, QR ordering, pay at table and the delivery apps, with stock, purchasing and the books in the same database. Here is how they differ — including where Foodics is ahead.

Feature by feature

Our side of every row is in the product today. Their side is how their products are generally described — check their own pages for the detail that matters to you.

On the floor and at the counter

  • Till and floor

    thexsys
POS Restaurant: a floor plan with live table status, a tab per table, dine-in, takeaway and delivery, modifiers, split bills and service charge.
    Foodics
A restaurant point of sale with table management, modifiers and split bills, running on tablets, to our knowledge.
  • Kitchen

    thexsys
A kitchen display that moves each line from new to preparing, ready and served, and tickets printed per station.
    Foodics
A kitchen display product and kitchen printing, to our knowledge.
  • Ordering from the table

    thexsys
Guests order from a QR code at the table, held to the kitchen’s own menu sections.
    Foodics
QR and online ordering are offered as products, to our knowledge — check their site.
  • Paying from the table

    thexsys
Pay at table: the guest scans, sees the bill, picks all of it, an equal share, their seat or the items they had, adds a tip and pays on their phone. The server, not the phone, works out the amount.
    Foodics
Offered as a product, to our knowledge; check their site for how it works in your country.
  • Kiosk and customer display

    thexsys
A self-order kiosk and a customer display, each paired to the till by a code, with no extra user to licence.
    Foodics
Kiosk and customer display products are offered, to our knowledge.
  • Menus and prices

    thexsys
Price lists by time and branch — a happy hour, a breakfast menu, a second branch’s own prices — combos priced as one and broken down for stock, and promotions.
    Foodics
Menu, pricing and promotion tools are part of the product; check the detail for your concept.
  • Phone orders

    thexsys
A call-centre screen that recognises the caller from the phone line and opens the order.
    Foodics
Check their site for call-centre ordering.

Delivery platforms

  • Delivery apps in one screen

    thexsys
Connect: orders from the delivery platforms in one screen, the menu and stock pushed back out, and the payout reconciled to the bank. Modifiers such as “no pickles” reach the same kitchen ticket.
    Foodics
Integrations with delivery platforms, to our knowledge — check which ones serve your country.

Behind the kitchen

  • Recipes and food cost

    thexsys
Each dish draws its recipe from the kitchen store at the moment of sale, so food cost lands with the sale; waste is logged and moves stock.
    Foodics
Inventory with recipes and stock counts is part of the product, to our knowledge.
  • Purchasing

    thexsys
Purchase orders, supplier quotations compared net of their discounts, and goods received with a quality check — in the same system.
    Foodics
Purchasing from suppliers within its inventory tools; check the detail you need.
  • Accounting

    thexsys
A full ledger in the same database: a paid bill is the POS order, the invoice, the stock movement and the journal entry at once, with VAT, bank reconciliation and period close.
    Foodics
Accounting is offered as a separate product or through integrations with accounting software, to our knowledge.
  • E-invoicing

    thexsys
ZATCA Fatoora phase 2 for Saudi Arabia and PINT-AE for the UAE, built into the invoice itself, in the same ledger.
    Foodics
Saudi e-invoicing is supported, to our knowledge; check the coverage for your country.
  • Staff and payroll

    thexsys
Attendance, and the Payroll (GCC) app with WPS files for Qatar, the UAE and Saudi Arabia, in the same system.
    Foodics
Through integrations or separate tools, to our knowledge.

Pricing and the rest of the business

  • How you pay

    thexsys
One app free forever. Paid plans from $9 per user / month, and every app is included from Standard at $19. Customers and suppliers on the portal never count as seats.
    Foodics
Subscription plans with add-on products, to our knowledge. See their pricing page.
  • Beyond the restaurant

    thexsys
The same subscription can run an online shop, loyalty, CRM, projects or a trading arm, on the same database, by switching on their apps.
    Foodics
Focused on restaurants and retail, to our knowledge; other parts of the business run in other systems.
  • Hardware

    thexsys
Runs in the browser on tablets and screens, and keeps queuing sales through a dropped connection. Printers, card machines and screens come from a hardware partner, at the partner’s prices. A native till app is on the way.
    Foodics
Its own hardware line and native apps, to our knowledge.

Where they are stronger

A comparison that wins every row is not worth reading. These are real advantages, and you should weigh them.

  • Foodics is a dedicated restaurant platform with years in the region and a large base of restaurants, especially in Saudi Arabia. Ours is younger.
  • Foodics sells its own hardware and offers financing. We do neither: devices come from a hardware partner, and financing is not something we offer.
  • Foodics has native apps, including one for managers on the phone. Our workspace installs from the browser, and a native till app is on the way.
  • Foodics has a large marketplace of integrations built around restaurants. Our marketplace is just starting.

Questions

Do I have to replace my hardware?

Not necessarily. The till, the floor and the kitchen display run in the browser on tablets and screens, and kitchen tickets print to station printers. An advisor will check your devices with you before you switch.

Can I keep my delivery platforms?

Yes. Connect brings their orders into one screen, pushes your menu and stock back out and reconciles the payout to the bank. Ask an advisor which platforms are connected in your country.

Can I move my menu and customers?

Yes. The X Migration app takes products, customers, suppliers and stock from a file exported by your old system: upload, map the columns, preview, run — and undo if something is wrong. A thexsys partner can do the move for you.

Is thexsys cheaper than Foodics?

Our prices are on our pricing page, read from the price list we publish; Foodics’ are on its own pricing page. Compare the whole setup you would need — the till, the kitchen, delivery, stock and the books — not one line of it.
