thexsys and Odoo
Odoo is a mature, widely used suite of business apps. thexsys is younger, written in Arabic and English at once, and installs a whole industry in one step. Here is how they differ, row by row — including where Odoo is ahead.

Our side of every row is in the product today. Their side is how their products are generally described — check their own pages for the detail that matters to you.
| What you get | thexsys | Odoo |
|---|---|---|
| Languages and documents | ||
| Arabic and English | Written in both at the same time: the layout is built right-to-left, a build check refuses left-to-right-only rules, and every Arabic plural form is in the catalogues. | English-first, with Arabic available as a translation and a right-to-left layout. |
| Documents and contracts | Invoices, quotations and other PDFs typeset properly in Arabic and English; contracts with each Arabic clause paired beside its English one. | Arabic printing is available; side-by-side bilingual layouts usually take customisation. |
| More languages | Further languages arrive as packs; a line not yet translated shows in English rather than empty. | Many languages, translated with its community. |
| Gulf compliance | ||
| E-invoicing | ZATCA Fatoora phase 2 for Saudi Arabia and PINT-AE for the UAE, built into the invoice itself, in the same ledger. | Saudi e-invoicing through its Saudi localisation; check the coverage for your country. |
| Payroll and WPS | The Payroll (GCC) app: WPS files for Qatar, the UAE and Saudi Arabia, end-of-service, allowances, loans and payslips. | Payroll localisations exist for some Gulf countries; coverage varies by country and edition. |
| Where the data lives | Runs on Google Cloud in Doha, Qatar; tenant data stays in that region. | Their cloud in the regions they offer, or self-hosting — see their hosting pages. |
| Industries | ||
| Ready-made industries | 83 industry models, 76 open today: one install brings the apps, workflows, dashboards, documents and starting data for your trade. | You choose apps and configure them; recent versions add industry starting points. |
| Gulf trades | Models written for trading and distribution, restaurants, retail, pharmacies, clinics, contractors and ELV. | General-purpose apps; trade-specific needs through partners or its app store. |
| Pricing model | ||
| How you pay | One app free forever. Paid plans from $9 per user / month, and every app is included from Standard at $19. Customers and suppliers on the portal never count as seats. | Per user, with plan levels that differ in features and hosting. See their pricing page. |
| One subscription for the whole business | One plan, one bill and one database for every app you switch on. | One subscription for its apps; third-party modules are bought separately. |
| Features you will not find in the standard suites | ||
| Quote options across sister companies | One quotation in several options, each one issued from whichever of your companies should carry it. | Not in the standard product, to our knowledge. |
| Drop a quotation, get the lines | Drop a supplier quotation as a PDF or a photo and its lines are read on our own servers — no AI provider involved. English-language documents today; Arabic is next. | Bill scanning is available; how it is processed and priced is theirs to state. |
| Sealed tenders | Bids sealed in the bidder’s browser, opened only by a quorum, scored evaluation and a published award, with a bidding app for suppliers. | Calls for tender in purchasing; sealed bids opened by a quorum are not in the standard product, to our knowledge. |
| Cheque printing | Print the cheque itself on the bank’s own stationery, from a payment voucher, with a layout editor for any bank not yet listed. | Cheque printing for some countries’ layouts; check whether your bank is covered. |
| Delivery platforms | Connect: orders from the delivery platforms in one screen, the menu and stock pushed back out, and the payout reconciled to the bank. | Through third-party connectors, where they exist for your platforms. |

Where they are stronger
A comparison that wins every row is not worth reading. These are real advantages, and you should weigh them.
- Odoo has been shipping for many years, with a very large community and a partner network across the world. Ours is younger.
- Odoo has an open-source Community edition and can be self-hosted. thexsys is a hosted service only.
- Odoo’s app store offers a very large number of third-party modules. Our marketplace is just starting.
- Odoo is translated into many more languages, largely by its community.
Questions
Can I move from Odoo to thexsys?
Yes. The X Migration app takes products, customers, suppliers and stock from a file exported by your old system: upload, map the columns, preview, run — and undo if something is wrong. A thexsys partner can do the move for you.
Is thexsys open source?
No. thexsys is a hosted service. Your data stays yours: you can export it at any time in open formats — JSON, PDF and XLSX or CSV.
Is thexsys cheaper than Odoo?
Our prices are on our pricing page, read from the price list we publish; Odoo’s are on its own pricing page. Compare the plan you would actually need, for the users and the apps you would actually use.
Does Odoo not do Arabic too?
It does, as a translation of an English-first product. The difference here is that thexsys is written in both languages at the same time, and its documents and contracts are laid out for both.
